       CHEVROLET TRAVERSE PROBLEMS AND DEFECTS

 

 Chevrolet Traverse problems have been reported.  They include transmission problems, electrical issue,  HVAC problems, traction control issues, navigation and  bluetooth defects.

SUMMARY:
TRANSMISSION WAS SURGING AND ABRUPTLY SHIFTING FROM SECOND TO THIRD GEAR AND AGAIN FROM FIFTH TO SIXTH GEAR. THE MORE IT WAS DRIVEN THE WORSE IT WAS GETTING. BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER AND THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. WAVE PLATE AND PISTONS AND SEALS GEARS 3, 5 AND REVERSE WERE ALL REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION TECH AT THE DEALERSHIP SAID WHEN HE OPENED IT UP THERE WAS METAL PARTS FALLING OUT. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM I FOUND 5 OTHERS THAT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THE WAVE PLATE IS BREAKING APART INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION. I EXPECT TO SEE A RECALL ON THIS TRANSMISSION AS MORE PEOPLE HAVE THIS PROBLEM. *TR

SUMMARY:
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GLOBAL POSITIONING NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM WAS DIFFICULT TO READ BECAUSE THE FONT WAS ENTIRELY TOO SMALL. THE NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM ALSO EXHIBITED WHITE LETTERING ON A LIGHT GREEN BACKGROUND, WHICH DID NOT PROVIDE ENOUGH CONTRAST. THE LOCATION OF THE SCREEN WAS ABNORMALLY LOW ON THE DASHBOARD AND CAUSED THE CONTACT TO REMOVE SIGHT FROM THE ROADWAY FOR A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER THEY STATED THAT THE NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1500. SUMMARY:

WITHOUT WARNING, NO LEAKS, NO NOISES.... AT 55 MPH WHEN I STARTED TO DECREASE MY SPEED TO TAKE A CURVE I LOST MY POWER STEERING. THIS COMES AND GOES WITHOUT WARNING AND IS VERY DANGEROUS FOR ANYONE DRIVING A TRAVERSE!! I JUST BOUGHT THIS USED VEHICLE ON MAR 6, 2013 AND NO SIGNS OF ANY PROBLEMS AND THEN THE POWER STEERING FAILS. WHEN YOU TRY TO TURN INTO PARKING LOTS OR ONTO A SIDE STREET IT JUST HITS AND YOU LOSE ALL POWER STEERING MAKING IT VERY DANGEROUS FOR ALL PERSON(S) IN OR NEAR THE VEHICLE. WE WERE TOLD BY VARIOUS MECHANICS IN THE SURROUNDING AREA THAT THIS IS A "KNOWN" DESIGN FLAW AND PROBLEM IN THESE VEHICLES AND YET GM HAS YET TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS!! THERE IS A MULTITUDE OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE THE IS SCATTERED ALL OVER THE INTERNET WITH POWER STEERING ISSUES!! GM SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO ISSUE A RECALL IMMEDIATELY BEFORE ITS TOO LATE AND SOMEONE GETS KILLED AND CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS ARE FILED!! *TR

Various brake problems and malfunction have been reported on the Audi Q7.  A class action complaint has been filed.  Our office is representing owners of defective vehicles.  Here is a typical complaint submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

SUMMARY:

I STARTED THE LEMON LAW PROCESS A YEAR AGO FOR THIS VEHICLE THINKING THAT IT WAS DEFECTIVE. I HAVE ONLY RECENTLY BEEN INFORMED THAT THE PROBLEM I AM EXPERIENCING IS A DESIGN FEATURE, THEY EVEN CALLED IT A "SAFETY FEATURE" - BUT IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. IF YOUR FOOT TOUCHES THE BRAKE PEDAL WHILE YOUR ARE ACCELERATING, THE ENGINE WILL SHUTDOWN TO AN IDLE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS, ALLOWING THE TRAFFIC THAT YOU ARE PULLING OUT INTO TO ALMOST CRASH INTO YOU. WITH AS MANY CLOSE CALLS AS I HAVE HAD, I AM CERTAIN THAT THERE HAVE BEEN ACCIDENTS (AND PERHAPS DEATHS) REPORTED WITH THIS VEHICLE WHERE MAYBE THE DRIVER DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND, OF COURSE, NOTHING WAS EVER FOUND TO BE WRONG WITH THE VEHICLES BECAUSE IT WAS WORKING AS INTENDED! LET ME EXPLAIN MY OWN SITUATION A LITTLE BETTER. FIRST, I DO NOT DRIVE WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. BUT, SUBCONSCIOUSLY (I HAVE DISCOVERED), AT THE MOST DANGEROUS TIMES (WHEN I ALWAYS NOTICED THAT THIS PROBLEM SEEMED TO OCCUR) I DO PUT MY LEFT FOOT OVER THE BRAKE WHILE MY RIGHT FOOT IS OVER THE GAS PEDAL. I DO THIS BECAUSE I WANT TO BE READY TO PRESS EITHER ONE WITHOUT ANY HESITATION IF NEEDED. FOR EXAMPLE WHEN TURNING LEFT INTO BUSY TRAFFIC, OR PASSING SOMEONE ON A BUSY INTERSTATE. THESE ARE THE TIMES WHEN THIS MOSTLY HAPPENS TO ME. THE PROBLEM IS, OF COURSE, THAT IF I EVEN EVER SO SLIGHTLY TOUCH THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE COMPUTER SHUTS THE CAR DOWN TO AN IDLE WITH NO POWER, AND INSTEAD OF ACCELERATING, MY CAR BEGINS TO SLOW DOWN! AND I CAN DO NOTHING ABOUT IT FOR SEVERAL SECONDS, AFTER WHICH TIME IT VERY SLOWLY "COMES BACK TO LIFE". NOW THAT I KNOW HOW IT WORKS, IT IS VERY EASY TO DUPLICATE THIS PROBLEM. IT WAS VERY OBVIOUSLY DESIGNED THIS WAY AND IN MY OPINION, IT IS A VERY UNSAFE VEHICLE. EDIT: THERE WAS NO OPTION FOR "SOFTWARE" IN THE DROP-DOWN LIST FOR COMPLAINT NAME. BUT THIS IS VERY OBVIOUSLY A SOFTWARE ISSUE. ALSO, DATE OF INCIDENT, SPEED AND MILEAGE ARE N/A, AS IT HAPPENS AT ANY SPEED SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED ON 12/30/2009. *TR

VOLKSWAGEN AUDI FUEL SYSTEM AND ENGINE MALFUNCTION

 

Owners of certain Audis particularly the Audi Q7 have reported problems.  Our office is handling claims involving this defects.  Here are complaints compiled by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration:

SUMMARY:

LOST ACCELERATION, WOULD NOT TAKE ANY THROTTLE INPUT. STARTED TO SLOW DOWN, EPC LITE CAME ON AN STARTED FLASHING. SPEED CONTINUED TO DROP FOR THE NEXT 10 MILES. GOT OFF AT THE FIRST EXIT THAT CAME UP ON THE I5. AS I CAME OFF THE FWY I WAS DOWN TO 25 MPH. AT THE FIRST LITE I HAD TO STOP, THE ENGINE QUIT, I THEN TURNED RIGHT IT WAS DOWN HILL SO THE CAR GLIDED WITH NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES. MADE IT INTO A PARKING LOT TO A SAFE PLACE TO PARK. CAR WOULD NOT RESTART. HAD IT TAKEN BY FLAT BED TO OUR AUDI DEALERSHIP 107 MILES AWAY. DEALER SAID THAT THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP FAILED AND CONTAMINATED THE COMPLETE FUEL SYSTEM. *TR

SUMMARY:

THIS IS A TDI VERSION OF THE Q7. THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP FAILED DURING NORMAL USE AND SENT METAL PARTS THROUGH THE FUEL LINES, THROUGH THE FUEL FILTER AND INTO THE COMBUSTION CHAMBERS. AS A RESULT, THE ENGINE CEASED AND WE WERE LEFT STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD ON A WINDING CANYON ROAD. THE ENGINE BLOCK WAS DAMAGED; THE CRANK SHAFT BENT, THE PISTONS DAMAGED THE HEADS AND MANY OTHER PARTS WERE DESTROYED. THE CAR WAS REPAIRED BY AN AUDI DEALER AND REQUIRED ALL NEW FUEL COMPONENTS (BUMPER TO BUMPER) AND A NEW ENGINE. THE CAR WAS IN THE SHOP FOR OVER A MONTH. *TR

THE FOLLOWING INCIDENT HAS OCCURRED TWICE. THE ONLY COMMON FACTOR I CAN IDENTIFY IS A GREAT DEAL OF RAIN PRIOR TO THIS. MY TAILGATE HAS OPENED TWICE BY ITSELF. WHEN THIS OCCURS, IT TAKES SEVERAL MINUTES TO CLOSE. I'VE HAD THE DEALER LOOK AT IT. THEY CLAIMED TO HAVE VIRTUALLY TAKEN THE WHOLE THING APART, AND CANNOT FIND THE SOURCE OF THIS PROBLEM. *TR

AS DRIVING ONTO THE HIGHWAY, WHEN ACCELERATING TO GET TO HIGHWAY SPEED VEHICLE LOST POWER WENT INTO LIMP MODE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE. WAS ALMOST REARENDED BY TRACTOR TRAILER BECAUSE OF THIS ( HAD TO PULL ONTO THE SHOULDER TO GET OUT OF THE WAY). ALSO THE GLOW PLUG INDICATOR LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ONE. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER ( AUDI OF FAIRFIELD CT) THEY FOUND THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE HPFP METAL SHAVINGS IN THE FUEL SYSTEM AND THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM. THEY ALSO SAID THAT IT MIGHT BE FROM PUTTING GASOLINE INSTEAD OF DIESEL FUEL, BUT I AM SURE I HAVE ALWAYS USED DIESEL AS I KEPT ALL RECEIPTS FROM GASSTATIONS. THEY WILL REPLACE THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM AT NO COST TO ME, UNDER THE WARRANTY, BUT I THINK IT IS A PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED! THANK YOU *TR
